LEADING AFRICA SCHOLARSHIPS IN THE UK



The Leading Africa Scholarship is a program offered by the University of Oxford in the UK. The scholarship is aimed at supporting African students who demonstrate outstanding academic potential and leadership skills. The program is fully funded and covers tuition fees, living expenses, and airfare to and from the student's home country.


The Leading Africa Scholarship is open to students who are citizens of African countries and who have achieved excellent academic results. Applicants must have applied to study a full-time graduate degree at the University of Oxford and must demonstrate a strong commitment to leadership, social change, and improving the lives of others in their home countries.

ONE YOUNG SUMMIT 2023 IN BELFAST FOR AFRICAN STUDENTS



One Young World Summit is a global forum for young leaders from around the world and it's open to young people from all countries, including African students. While the Summit location may change from year to year, it is generally open to delegates from all countries, including those from Africa.


The One Young World Summit provides a unique opportunity for young leaders to come together, network, share ideas and experiences, and collaborate on solutions to global challenges. The summit covers a wide range of topics, including climate change, human rights, education, and entrepreneurship, among others.



The summit is open to delegates aged 18-30, and African students are encouraged to apply for a place. To attend the summit, delegates are required to apply and be selected by the One Young World team. The selection process is highly competitive and based on a range of criteria, including leadership potential, commitment to social change, and demonstrated impact in their communities.


While the location of the One Young World Summit in 2023 has been confirmed, it is taking place in Belfast. African students who meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply for the summit and take advantage of this unique opportunity to connect with other young leaders and make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.



THE FOLLOWING ARE COST COVERED BY THE SCHOLARSHIP

Most scholarships cover the costs of:

1. Access to the One Young World Summit 2023, taking place from 2-5 October 2023 in Belfast, UK.

2. Hotel accommodation on a shared basis for the duration of the Summit.

3. Catering which includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the duration of the Summit.

4. The cost of travel to and from the Summit location.


WHO'S ELIGIBLE FOR THESE SCHOLARSHIPS

You are eligible for sponsorship if you:

1. Are between the ages of 18 - 30*

2. Have an evidenced commitment to delivering positive change

3. Demonstrate capacity for leadership by addressing key local and/or global issues in your work.

4. Have a track record of generating impactful and innovative ideas.

5. You are a national (passport holding citizen) some of the countries in Africa listed below.


Can I apply for more than one scholarship?

Yes! You can apply for multiple scholarships but you can only be selected to win one scholarship.
